Its unusual for 2 of the top 3 receivers on a team to be tight ends, but they have everything else you expect from a dominant offense. Amazing quarterback and receivers, above average offensive line, and a solid enough running game to keep you honest.

Defense: ranking is terrible in yardage given up. When playing the Broncos, you have to wonder if the Broncos can keep up in a shootout. Do I need to keep going? They are healthy finally, and Brandon Spikes and Patrick Chung are playing well. Belichick is a genius, so maybe they can play well enough to get to the promised land.

Playoffs: Had the #1 seed and the bye. Had the good fortune of Denver upsetting Pittsburgh and therefore an easy win in the divisional round. Have yet to be tested, have seen the other two offenses capable of keeping up with them knocked out. Statistically, they were outplayed by the Ravens, but it was close and they won, so who cares?

Giants: 9-7 regular season record
Offense: solid on offense, but probably short of their potential. They are starting to play better, especially Nicks and Jacobs. They are still suspect on the offensive line, struggle with run blocking, and force Eli to throw before he is ready. When they are clicking, they are clicking. However, they are also too often in funks and go three and out.

Defense: Their front four is obviously playing terrific. However, it is too often that their front four are masking the obvious deficiencies of their back end. When they get to the quarterback, they are suffocating. When they don’t, there are holes available for the quarterback to throw into and score points.

Playoffs: Played the Falcons in the first round, and it was not a difficult game. They dominated the game up front and the Falcons got nowhere on offense. They went to Lambeau and outplayed Green Bay. They went to San Francisco and outplayed the 49ers. They created turnovers, got pressure, and moved the ball on offense. They have peaked at the right time.

How it will go:

AFC: Patriots vs NFC: Giants

Pass defense: Edge, Giants

Run defense: Edge, Giants

Pressure: Edge, Giants

Special teams: Even

Pass offense: Slight edge, Patriots

Rush offense: Slight edge, Giants

Protection: Edge, Patriots

Quarterback: Clear edge, Patriots

Coaching: Edge, Patriots

If the Giants win…they win the turnover battle and get points from someone other than their offense. They also will need to control time of possession and limit the amount of times Brady has the ball. If it becomes Eli vs. Brady, they probably lose. Any other controlling elements in this game and the Giants should win.

If the Patriots win…The game turns into a battle of the offenses and the Patriots are given the chance to win with their superior offense. They need to control the tempo of the game and not have it turn into a physical battle. They should be able to find holes in the back end of the Giants defense if they can stop the front line of it.

Surprise level at an upset? Minor. The Giants have the superior defense, and the Patriots have the superior offense. The Patriots offense is the best of the four units, so they should win, but it’s a close match. Also, the Giants are on fire right now as they dominated the 49ers statistically, if not on the scoreboard.

Prediction: Giants will win 31-24, having created enough pressure to stop the Patriots on several key drives.

Can't catch the game on television this year? Check out how to watch the superbowl online here!

Watch Superbowl 2012 Online - Wherever You Are

Watch Superbowl 2012 Online

Do you need a way to watch the superbowl online this year? Unfortunately there are quite a lot of extremely busy people who won't be able to have access to TV this coming February 5, 2012. And that is really a bummer since it will be SUPERBOWL SUNDAY! I know because I have been there. Stuck working on the BIGGEST sports day of the year. That's why I'm writing this to let you know that you really can watch the Super Bowl live on your computer.

Watch Super Bowl 46 Online - Click Here

We're down to the final four teams and I know everyone has their favorites. The Ravens are the best, by the way! No matter who gets paired up in the big game it's bound to be quite a show that no football fan should miss. Watching Super Bowl 46 online is quite simple. Click here to watch the superbowl online.

I found out the hard way since you can find all kinds of sites telling you how you can watch the superbowl through one website or another, but most of them are not dependable or even work at all. When I found the Satellite for PC site it looked promising so I tried it. Boy, was it amazing! It was like TV with over 2,000 channels and I even forgot that I was watching it on my pc. Now I can watch sports or whatever I want when my wife is watching her shows on tv, and it is great. And all for a one-time fee, no month-to-month.

Since the software uses the web to stream television channels, there are a huge variety of sports and channels from all over the world. No expensive cable or satellite tv needed! Now I've gotten to watch a lot of football already this year live in my den from my laptop. No more conflicts over tv watching on football night!

AFC Championship 2012 Game Prediction: Ravens vs Patriots

AFC Championship 2012 Predictions

Where to Watch AFC Championship 2012 Game )Online - Click Here!

Patriots: 13-3 regular season record

Offense: not quite record setting, but obviously explosive. Had the good fortune of Denver upsetting Pittsburgh and therefore an easy win in the divisional round. Have yet to be tested, have seen the other two offenses capable of keeping up with them knocked out.

Ravens: 12-4 regular season record

Offense: solid on offense, but probably short of their potential. Flacco is still inconsistent at quarterback. They have yet to provide him with top tier receiving threats and their pass catchers seem to always battle injury. Ray Rice is fantastic, but their entire running game tends to be mediocre several games a year. They also tend to go away from Rice unless they have a lead. It’s never a good plan to go away from your best playmaker on offense.

Defense: phenomenal on defense, usually. They have an incredible defensive line, the best in football with Ngata and Suggs, along with the young guys contributing. They have the best safety in history still playing at a high level. Ray Lewis still hits hard and is the spiritual leader. More vulnerable than in the past because they have inconsistent cornerback play.

Playoffs: Enjoyed a first round bye, and then a game against Houston and their third string quarterback in round two. I missed most of this game because of church. However, I saw the last 8 or so minutes and saw a typical end to a Ravens’ game. It was close until the end, and Houston had the ball and was driving when the game got to the 2 minute warning. Ray Lewis stuffed a running play for a loss, and then Ed Reed intercepted a throw that would have put Houston inside the 5 yard line.

How it will go:

#1 Patriots vs. #2 Ravens

Pass defense: Edge, Ravens

Run defense: Edge, Ravens

Patriots: 13-3 regular season record

Pressure: Edge, Ravens

Special teams: Edge, Patriots

Pass offense: Edge, Patriots

Rush offense: Edge, Ravens

Protection: Clear edge, Patriots

Quarterback: Clear edge, Patriots

Coaching: Slight edge, Patriots

If the Ravens win…they win the turnover battle and get points from someone other than their offense. They also will need to control time of possession and limit the amount of times Brady has the ball.

If the Patriots win…The game turns into a battle of the offenses and the Patriots are given the chance to win with their superior offense. They need to control the tempo of the game and not have it turn into a physical battle.

Surprise level at an upset? Minor. The Ravens are the more complete team and if they control the flow and style of the game, they will win. However, the Patriots are playing so well offensively right now the Ravens may not keep up.

Prediction: Ravens win a physical, hard fought game 23 to 17.

Ravens vs Patriots Game Online Here!

NFC Championship 2012 Game Predictions: Giants vs 49ers

NFC Championship Game Coming on Sunday, January 22nd

Where to Watch NFC Game Online - Click Here!

49ers: 13-3 regular season record

Offense: They have been the prototypical caretaker offense which scores enough to win games. They control the ball with their physical run game and throw enough to keep defenses honest. They have sprinkled in enough big passing plays to show off Alex Smith’s arm and threaten teams downfield.

Defense: Despite the knee-jerk tendency to say the Ravens, Steelers, or Texans are better on defense, the 49ers have been the best all year. Their front seven is unrivaled in the entire league, and their back end is good enough to not be picked on. They don’t make mistakes and they force turnovers.

Playoffs: Had the #2 seed and the bye. They got the red hot Saints at home in the divisional round and created four turnovers. They also put up 36 points, which I definitely did not see coming. In the fourth quarter, they went score for score with the Saints and looked good doing it.

They created turnovers, got pressure, and moved the ball on offense. They have peaked at the right time.

#5 Giants vs. #2 49ers

How it will go:

Pass defense: Edge, 49ers

Run defense: Edge, 49ers

Pressure: Slight edge, 49ers

Special teams: Edge, 49ers

Pass offense: Edge, Giants

Rush offense: Slight edge, 49ers

Protection: Edge, 49ers

Quarterback: Clear edge, Giants

Coaching: Even

If the Giants win…they will have kept enough pressure on Alex Smith that the 49ers will not have put together much of an offense. They will have won the game through the air.

If the 49ers win…they will have done what they do to every other team—shut them down. They have given up an average of 15 points a game. Their defense is suffocating and their offense does enough.

Surprise level at an upset? A little surprise. These two teams are fairly evenly matched on paper. San Francisco is better on every level on defense, and their offensive line has been great all year. Their line will neutralize the Giants d-line, and the 49ers will shut down the Giants offense.

Prediction: I will predict a 49ers win but don’t be shocked with either outcome. The 49ers play mistake free football, but the Giants have the quarterback and the experience.

Watch Giants vs 49ers Online Here!

Superbowl Watch Online - Anywhere You Want!

Superbowl Watch Online - What Are Your Options?

If you are like me, you will do just about anything not to miss the upcoming Super Bowl 46 this February 5th!

Last year I ended up getting Satellite Direct on my PC because we had scheduling conflicts at home. I mean, I don't know how my daughters 10th birthday slumber party got tv rights over me, but they did. And being the stand up family man that I am, I broke out my trusty laptop, hied myself to the den and watched the game in peace and quiet!

I've since found that I am not alone in using Satellite Direct for the PC to watch the superbowl. A couple of my buds from work use it to watch the big game and a lot of other sports shows too. I found out that the free online sites weren't too reliable and I wouldn't want to trust watching the MOST IMPORTANT EVENT of the year on something that can flake out on me right at an exciting part. Know what I mean?

Don't miss Super Bowl 46 if you can't watch it on tv this year - check this out for super results!!!

Watch TV Online On Your Computer!

This is the link to the home page for Satellite Direct. I've also heard that Online TV works well in case you are trying to catch the game at the last minute and the first site is busy...

Just don't miss out on the action - catch you at the super bowl!

NFL Defensive Stats - Who Makes the Grade This Season?

NFL Defensive Stats

Best Defense NFL - These Are the Top Two Defensive NFL Teams

Now, these are my humble opinions - please leave a comment if you want to share your opinion!!

Houston Texans Defense: When in one off season the glaring weakness of your team becomes a strength, you should be recognized and awarded for your effort. They haven’t added many pieces, and yet they became one of the stiffest defenses in the league. It is especially impressive that they are stingy on giving up both yards and points to their opponents. That speaks to a complete defensive effort, and not just hard play and mixed fortunes working together.

San Francisco 49ers Defense: seriously, they have been great all year. The coaching staff, one year removed from a disappointing season, has the best scoring defense in the entire league put together. Justin Smith has gone from unknown to All-Pro, and every player seems to be better than they ever have been. I would imagine there will be a slight regression next year, but they have been so good they would still be elite.

Defense Rankings: Worst Defensive NFL Teams

NY Giants Defense: I was listening to Antonio Pierce on ESPN the other day, and he said he would fire the defensive coordinator of the Giants. At first, I thought this was crazy as the Giants tend to win the games their defense makes multiple big plays, and lose games where the defense doesn’t make those same plays. While this might be an accurate description of many of their games this season, it doesn’t really tell the story. There are only four teams that have given up more points than the Giants. The Giants have been outscored by their opponents this season by 23 points. They have had much of their success this year because of their offense and not their defense. This is disappointing as they are very talented on that side of the ball.

Minnesota Vikings Defense: When you have Jared Allen close to twenty sacks in a season, it is unacceptable that you are also close to the league’s worst in scoring defense. They give up over 28 points a game. That’s more than lack of talent, that’s lack of effort. This also speaks to poor personnel management as they have ignored the fact that they are getting old and washed up as quickly as they have.

Buffalo Bills Defense: I know they lost Kyle Williams early in the season, but one guy going down should not end your defense’s season. They can’t stop anyone! This is especially disappointing as this is the side of the ball that they have been ahead on for several years. Their offense has been putrid but at least their defense was putting up fights. Except now, the defense stopped fighting. Rally around the next man up and give your team a chance to win a game.

Best Offense NFL

Best Offensive Teams in the NFL

New England Patriots Offense: Their defense easily could have made the most disappointing list for the season, but I chose not to put both units from the same team on the list. Their defense has been one of the worst in the league all year, yet they are one win away from clinching homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. They have turned routine players (Welker) into superstars, and revolutionized how to play the game (tight ends). Brady is in a unique situation where he is completely indispensable, record breaking, and rightfully third on the list of MVP candidacies.

New Orleans Saints Offense: They broke the all time passing record with one week to go. And yes, Drew Brees was correct in stating that that record was achieved by the entire team. Obviously, he has been spectacular, but that has been true for several years now. What I think is most impressive is that injuries seem to be irrelevant to their success. As long as Brees plays, they will score thirty points.

Green Bay Packers Offense: This unit has been insanely good. They have gotten way too much grief and blame for one bad week against the Chiefs. As far as their playoff hopes are concerned, it is concerning that they cannot run the ball. However, since every receiver looks like a superstar receiving passes from Aaron Rodgers, that may not matter, even in the playoffs.

NFL Play Off Predictions

NFL PlayoffPredictions - with a month left

AFC: Race for thetop seed

Houston—they have a 9 and 3 record now, 12 and 4 is what Ipredict for them. They have a game at Cincinnati next week, and againstTennessee the final week of the season. It’s going to be difficult to beat twodesperate teams trying to make the playoffs with a third string quarterback.

New England—they have a 9 and 3 record now, and will have a13 and 3 record at season’s end. I just don’t see who they might lose too, andthey will get home field advantage in the playoffs. They won’t lose against alesser team as they push for home field advantage.

Baltimore—9 and 3 now, and I predict that they will be 12and 4 at the end of the season. I have a hard time believing that they willshow up every single week against inferior competition, especially teamsfighting for their playoff lives.

Pittsburgh—9 and 3 now, and I predict 13 and 3 at season’send as well. They have a very difficult game left (at San Francisco) butentirely winnable. Past that in week fourteen, and they are 13 and 3 and holdthe tie breaker on New England.

Division titles:

East Division:

New England has a two game lead with four to go. They havefour relatively easy games left, and I don’t see how they will cough up thatlead. My prediction: 13 and 3, AFC East title, #2 seed in the AFC.

South Division:

Houston has a two game lead with four to go, and there is noway that they will be caught. They are built to win even with just an averagequarterback, so the playoffs shouldn’t be a problem with a rookie. Myprediction: 12 and 4, AFC South title, #3 seed in the AFC

Central Division:

This is the tightest divisional race that is left. Baltimoreholds the tiebreaker, and has the slightly easier schedule. I just don’tbelieve that they will go undefeated for four games when everyone else isfighting for the playoffs. My prediction: Pittsburgh, 13 and 3, Central title,#1 seed in the AFC

West Division: I really believe more in Oakland than Denver, but Denver’s schedule is considerably easier. Oakland has Detroit, Green Bayand the Charger left while the Broncos have New England, Buffalo, and the JayCutler less Bears. My prediction: Denver, 10 and 6, West title, #4 seed in theAFC

Wild cards:

I’m not considering anyone that is already two games out,but even then, there are four teams tied at 7 and 5 for the second wild card.

Obviously, Baltimore is my pick for the first wild card asthey are two games ahead of all others. They will get the 5 seed in the AFC.

7 and 5 teams:

Oakland: They have a game at Green Bay, and home againstDetroit and San Diego. I don’t think they have enough experience to win 2 ofthose 3 games. I predict 9 and 7 and out of the playoffs.

Cincinnati: They have two very tough games left, Houston andBaltimore. I don’t see how they can beat a superior team that is also involvedin a playoff hunt. I predict 9 and 7 and out of the playoffs.

Tennessee: they have New Orleans and at Houston left. Ithink they will also end up 9 and 7 and out of the playoffs this year.

NY Jets: They have by far the easiest schedule of the 7 and5 teams. They are playing the Giants, Eagles, Dolphins, and Chiefs. No supereasy wins there, but as long as they don’t stub their toe twice, they will endup 10 and 6 and in the playoffs.

Conclusion: Mypredictions

Pittsburgh, New England get byes at 13 and 3.

Houston plays the Jets in the 3/6 matchup.

Denver hosts Baltimore in the 4/5 game.

NFC Playoff Picture:

NFC: Race for thetop seed

Well, this is a lot shorter of a list than the AFC. GreenBay pretty much has this spot wrapped up. Their remaining games are Oakland,Chicago and Detroit at home and a visit to Kansas City. I think it would befoolish to predict a 16 and 0 season at this point, but they won’t lose twice. My prediction: 15 and 1, #1 seed in the NFC

Division titles:

East Division: Dallas and New York have two games leftagainst each other, so this division is far from decided. However, Dallas’sother two games are easier—Tampa Bay and Philadelphia instead of Washington andthe Saints. Because of that, I’ll go with Dallas at 10 and 6 and the 4 seed inthe NFC.

South Division: New Orleans has a two game lead with four togo. The question isn’t will they win the division, but will they get the twoseed in the playoffs? I think they are playing well enough that I am willing topredict they run the table: 13 and 3, South title, and 2 seed in the NFC.

Central Division: Obviously, the Packers are going to wintheir division. They clinched already with two teams over 500 in theirdivision. The only remaining question is can they get all four? They are goingto get everyone’s best shot for the rest of the year. I predict a 15 and 1record and home field advantage.

West Division: Seeing as San Francisco already clinched, Ican’t be wrong. They’ve got a home game against Pittsburgh, and three roadgames in the division in the final month. I don’t think they’ll win thePittsburgh game or go undefeated on the road in the division. I predict a Westtitle, 12 and 4 record, and a 3 seed in the playoffs.

Wild cards:

Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, and the Giants are all inplay for the wild cards. I am discarding teams two or more games out with onlyfour to play. As I already predicted the Cowboys as East Division winners, Iwon’t include them either.

Chicago—7 and 5 now, and I predict they will get to 9 and 7at best. They have Caleb Hainie at quarterback, and games at Denver and GreenBay remaining. I don’t see any way Hainie leads them to the playoffs.

Atlanta: 7 and 5 now. They hit the soft part of theirschedule at the right time. Their second hardest remaining game is at Carolina. They are a veteran team and will come to play every week from here on out. I predicta 10 and 6 record for them and the 5 seed.

Detroit: 7 and 5 now. They play Minnesota, at Oakland, SanDiego, and at Green Bay. I think at Oakland is their entire season, and thatthey will that game and play their way into the playoffs like men. I predict a10 and 6 record and the number six seed in the playoffs.

Giants: 6 and 6 now. They have several tough games left, twoagainst Dallas, Washington, and at the Jets. They will probably split thosegames, which is not good enough because they are already one behind.

Conclusion: Mypredictions

Green Bay (15-1) and New Orleans (13-3) get the top twoseeds and the byes.

San Francisco hosts Detroit in the 3/6 matchup

Dallas hosts Atlanta in the 4/5 matchup

The 5 Most Important Defensive Players In the NFL

Five most important defensive players in the league are….

Haloti Ngata -he’s incredible. It’s like he’s on a mission this year to prove that he’s the best defensive tackle in the league, and not that guy in Detroit. He’s unblockable. He can chase down guys from behind. All his tackles seem to be for loss when he’s playing well. Ed Reed and Ray Lewis don’t look old yet. Well, when Ngata attracts two blockers and is still unblockable, it’s easy to play behind him.

Vince Wilfork - it’s hard to include him on this list when his team’s defense has been terrible this season. However, he’s unblockable, he’s still scarier than Suh, and he’s picking up the slack for his secondary by getting two interceptions already. The Patriots traded Richard Seymour and their D Line is just as good. Nuff said.

Mario Williams - turns out the Texans were right when they picked him over Vince Young and Reggie Bush a few years back at number one overall. And it wasn’t even close. He is a beast. Teams don’t know what to do with the guy. He’s 6’6” and possibly the best athlete on the defensive side of the ball for anyone if the NFL.

Darell Revis - um, duh. Never seen a defensive player turn a season around for a team the way Revis did when he got two picks against Miami in week six. He didn’t even have a great game—Brandon Marshall tore him up without even playing well himself. But I saw the Jets swagger return for the first time, and that’s huge. He’s everything to that team.

Ed Reed - he edges out Demarcus Ware and Suh, partly because of nostalgia. However, he barely played last year, and Baltimore’s offense carried the team into the playoffs. He comes back late last season, and they go from first round pushover to near Super Bowl participants. Their defense has been suffocating. He’s back. When the defensive player of the year discussion up to this point revolves around who’s been the best player in Baltimore? , you’re pretty good.

NFL Teams Super Bowl 46 Hopes - Part 4

Super Bowl 46 Hopefuls (The Contenders!)

This years contenders for Superbowl XLVI

Detroit Lions: they are overachieving so much they may fall out of this category. However, their d line is so overwhelming it might be enough. I watched them play the Bears and that game moved them up to the contenders level for me. Cutler got off maybe five clean throws untouched that game. Stafford and Calvin Johnson look great. They need to figure out a run game, and pray Stafford doesn’t get injured. If that happens and their D really is this good, they are contenders now. If not, they may come back to earth later in the season.

New England Patriots: You can’t be this bad on defense and be higher than five on my personal list. Brady has been so unstoppable this year they can beat anyone; however, until they are playing better on both sides of the ball I can’t put them higher.

San Diego Chargers: fourth simply because of injury concerns right now. If Gates, Jackson, and Floyd can all play reasonably healthy for the playoffs, they’re incredible. If not, they are lacking in weapons and fall a little short. They also really do need a couple of players on defense before they are truly elite.

Baltimore Ravens: Every year seems like it is going to be Ed Reed and Ray Lewis’s last productive year. And every year, they are incredible. Haloti Ngata also seems determined to prove that he is the best D tackle in the league over Suh. He is awesome so far this year. IF their offense improves just a little bit and finds consistency, they may win the Super Bowl. If it continues in this up and down pattern, it may be their undoing.

New Orleans Saints: They may not be the second best team in the league; they just have the fewest question marks of the four above them. They are great on offense, and make enough plays on defense to be scary. Can they stay healthy? Can they hide their defense enough to win another Super Bowl?

Green Bay Packers: How has Aaron Rodgers been better than last year? They are amazing at everything. To nitpick, their defense doesn’t dominate; its more of a bend but don’t break philosophy. On offense, they struggle to run the ball consistently. However, they are so dominant in passing, that may not matter. Four weeks in, and they look unbeatable. We’ll have to wait and see.

NFL Teams Super Bowl 46 Hopes - Part 3

Super Bowl 46 Hopefuls (Some Hope)

Playoff hopefuls for Superbowl XLVI: But I don’t see anything beyond that.

Buffalo Bills: they have been incredible so far this year. They had two awesome endings already where they have come from behind. However, their one loss was so ugly it just showed me that it’s a nice story so far, but they’re a little bit away. They are another team that has already peaked in my opinion.

New York Jets: What is going on here? Did they get old? Did they start shutting Rex out? Has there offense really gotten worse? Are they out of shape because of the lockout? This is one of the other teams I have a hard time explaining. Did they overachieve their first two years and are they getting figured out now? I don’t know the answer; I just know it surprises me they have fallen off this much.

New York Giants: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde! This team looks great, and then it looks terrible. Lots of really nice players, pretty good on both sides of the line. Not really great anywhere anymore. I think they need an infusion of new young talent somewhere other than D-Line. They may make the playoffs, but their inconsistency is their Achilles heel this year.

Tampa Bay Bucaneers: Bucs fans need to realize that this is still a very nice young nucleus; its just a very nice young nucleus that overachieved last year. They are close to being playoff contenders every year. Keep building like they are building, and they may be Super Bowl contenders soon. However, a young team just means inconsistent performances from time to time, and some unrealized potential.

Houston Texans: everything lined up nicely for them this year. Garrard got cut, Manning may not play the whole year, Wade Phillips is here to rescue the defense. And then, injuries. No team has had stars out like this at all. Foster, now Andre Johnson. Mario Williams is out for the year. I hope for Kubiak’s sake they hold on for the playoffs. Another good offseason and they are legitimate playoff contenders every year; however, injuries and a poor offseason and they may take another step back.

Oakland Raiders: They are on their way back. They are improving on both sides of the ball, and they have a great young back in Mc Fadden. A few more legitimate playmakers on defense and in the receivers corps and they are a scary team to play in the playoffs. Then some experience and they are a powerhouse.

Dallas Cowboys: Jason Garrett is finally given the team and they are plagued by injuries. I think its good he’s running the show now, as Cowboy fans will only be happy with explosive offensive teams. They have a nice set of playmakers on offense, and they are rebuilding both lines on the fly. They just need to learn to play together better to get rid of some of the offensive inconsistencies. Then they need to get Ware another playmaker or two on the defense so it will at least be competitive.

Atlanta Falcons: Personally, I think they are overrated. However, they won 13 games last year so I am probably wrong. The problem I see with the Falcons is that they are good everywhere but not great anywhere. You have to be great somewhere to be Super Bowl contenders, and I’m not sure where they are great.

Pittsburgh Steelers: They’re great, especially on defense. However, they’re old. I don’t think their defense can carry them to Super Bowls anymore. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s been the case so far this season. And on offense, it doesn’t matter what the defense does if Roethlisberger is laying on his read all day. Is the defense old? IS the offensive line going to improve at all? Four games in and we have reason to doubt? Until both questions are answered, they’re not contenders.

San Francisco 49ers: The question isn’t what happened this year, it’ what happened last year? At this point, they are overachieving abit. However, they also are supposed to be the best team in the division. It’s not a surprise that they are winning the division. They need some offensive help, but their defense is pretty good and Harbaugh knows what he is doing on offense so they are improving.

NFL Teams Super Bowl 46 Hopes - Part 2

Super Bowl 46 Hopefuls (Little Hope)

Still pretty hopeless, but they’re showing me something for this years Superbowl XLVI

Cleveland Browns: They’re young, they’re lower on the talent spectrum, yet they have won two games. It seems like Holgrem and the new system is working out there well. Also, McCoy is much better than expected in the pro’s. They’re a couple of years away; however, the system change is working and they are winning at least some games already.

Kansas City: This is probably the hardest team in the league to comment on. Shocked me with a ten win season last year. However, they were easily the worst team in the league for three weeks; horrible, something like 89-10 after the first two weeks. Then they won two games in arrow. Now it helps that Minnesota and Indianapolis where there opponents. So are they a fluky, ten win team or are they the worst team in the league by far? I think they are about a five win team that is incredibly streaky.

Seattle Seahawks: They are pretty similar to the Cardinals and the Rams really. However, they have plugged a lot more holes than the other two teams and in my opinion are ahead in the rebuilding process. They need a quarterback badly and hopefully the offensive line will gell. It’s been so bad since Hutchinson left that I just hope the young guys work out.

Chicago Bears: They’re old. The defense is still above average, but its not elite anymore. The offense line has seen a similar decline as well. They held on a little too long with that core. They are still good enough to compete for a playoff spot. However, they need to realize (and soon) that it is time to rebuild properly and start to tear down the old core.

Philadelphia Eagles: I learned two things this offseason from this team: how important every level is on both sides of the ball. Their linebackers and offensive line are terrible, and good luck improving that. They are great at a ton of positions on the field; however, they have also have some of the worst starters in the NFL on both sides of the ball. Second thing I learned: it’s time for Andy Reid to go. An offensive friend as your D coordinator? He’s been so bad as D coordinator Asomugha looks bad!

Tennessee Titans: I think the new coach here has reestablished the personality of a tough physical team. I think Matt Hasselbeck is playing as well as we will ever see him play again. If he stays healthy, he can probably keep it at this level for a couple of more years. However, can he stay healthy? They are doing some nice things; I just think they peaked already and they will end up with 6-7 wins.

Cincinnati Bengals: they really have done a good job putting this defense together, and it is moving towards elite. Not quite there yet, but in a year or two. Now they need playmakers on offense. Lots of them. Don’t know if they have anyone that is above average. However, if they are able to put it together quickly and keep improving, they’ll be hanging around for more than one year this time.

Washington Redskins: they have been very impressive for four weeks, but I’m just not buying it. I think they have been lucky and over performing by a lot. I think the best case scenario for this team is losing in the first playoff game. Their defense is getting better. I just don’t see how Tim Hightower, Rex Grossman, and Santana Moss can lead an offense to anything other than mediocrity.

These are the teams that have a long way to go, but not quite hopeless for Super Bowl 46!

NFL Teams Super Bowl 46 Hopes - Part 1

Super Bowl 46 Hopefuls (No Hope)

We are a quarter of the way through the season. Every August, each team starts with Super Bowl aspirations, realistic or ridiculous, depending on the team. Where does each teams chance stand now?

First, let's look at the teams that have no hope for Superbowl 46(in my humble opinion).

Indianopolis Colts: for a couple of years now, we have been wondering if this was an old team that Peyton Manning was keeping afloat, or if they were still legitimate contenders. For die-hard Colts fans, Peyton Manning is just that important; they’ll be contenders next year when he’s back. Most analysts will say that Peyton Manning is “that important” and the Colts are too old anyway.

Miami Dolphins: what do you expect to happen when you treat your coach like that all off season? Management’s approach of we’ll keep you since nothing better came along sent a horrible message to the whole team; this team isn’t good enough to do anything. They probably didn’t have enough talent to make the playoffs, but they could have been competitive most weeks at the very least.

Jacksonville Jaguars: defense is coming along nicely, maybe well enough to luck into the playoffs this year; however, the wheels are coming off on offense. Suspect talent at wide receiver and tight end, cut your quarterback, start a rookie and… you’re abysmal. They’re getting close on defense, but they are a long way away on offense.

Denver Broncos: they just need talent, man! They’re not very good on any level on either side of the ball, they play uninspired football, and they haven’t had a good coach since Shanahan left. Maybe with Tim Tebow….

St Louis Rams: train wreck. Now part of their problems are injuries; they have been plagued. I think they also became somewhat of a media darling last year, which drove expectations way too high. They are headed in the right direction; bought into the coaches system, they always play hard, the young guys are getting playing time. They are just a couple of gaping holes on both sides of the ball.

Arizona Cardinals: as a Seahawks fan, I have to say I saw this coming. However, I’m biased. Similar to the Rams, just not as young. Some talent, some major holes in the rotation. However, this team does not seem to be “buying into the system.” Whisenhunt is not a bad coach, but it’s probably time for a change. He “lucked into” the Kurt Warner Super Bowl team, and I think everyone in Arizona expects too much now.

Carolina Panthers: Now Cam Newton is incredible, and I didn’t expect that at all. Their offense is surprisingly efficient with directing it. However, they are 1-4. Is that because of a lack of talent? Is that because they are young? Is that because of coaching? All of the above? It was probably time to clear house last summer; get rid of the core of a team that went to the Big Game five years ago. It’s tough to replace outdated playmakers when they led you to glory and nothing good has happened since.

Minnesota Vikings: What a nightmare to be a fan of this team. They overachieved two years ago with a last gasp from a lot of old players: Hutchinson, MCKinnie, Birk, Favre, Williams, Williams and others. That was obvious last year when the offensive line couldn’t protect and Favre was terrible. So rather than rebuild on the fly, they got McNabb. Yeah, your team is old and there are many gaping holes and you are relying on old players. There is a lot of rebuilding needed here, especially on defense and o-line.

Watching Superbowl Online

Superbowl Highlights

Gear up for Super Bowl XLVI by reminiscing with some past Super Bowl Highlights.

After the game ends this February 5th, the superbowl highlights are sure to be talked about for weeks to come. But before that happens, let’s take a walk down memory lane by examining some of superbowl highlights from past superbowl games.

In 2009, Super Bowl XLIII saw the longest touchdown in superbowl history when the linebacker for the Steelers, Harrison, ran the ball 100 yards to score the touchdown. This put the Steelers ahead of the Cardinals 17-7 going into half time.

With just 10 minutes and 10 seconds of game time left during Super Bowl XVII, John Riggins’ play became a superbowl highlight for the Redskins. At the Dolphins 43 yard line and at the fourth-and-one, Riggins caught a pass from quarterback Joe Theisman, dodged one tackle and took off down the field to score a touchdown that put the Redskins in the lead. That one play helped them get in a groove and they went on to win the game.

Another fun superbowl highlight comes from Super Bowl X. The Steelers’ receiver Lynn Swann made a beautiful acrobatic catch that quickly became his signature. He cuaght a pass thrown by Terry Bradshaw by jumping over the Cowboys’ cornerback. Even though he bobbled the ball, he managed to hold on to it.

One of the most memorable superbowl highlights occurred during Super Bowl XXIII when Joe Montana finished a 92-yard rush by passing the ball to John Taylor for the touchdown. At the time, the Cincinnati Bengals were down 16-13 with just 39 seconds left on the clock. Montana’s play secured the win for the Bengals and that superbowl highlight went down in the history books.

A superbowl highlight that earned Marcus Allen the title of Super Bowl MVP occurred during Super Bowl XVIII. Allen snatched a hand-off from Plunkett, performed his signature dance in the backfield and then proceed to rush down the field for the touchdown. He ended the game with 191 yards ran.

How can a tied game not lead to one of the biggest superbowl highlights in history? John Elway was responsible for that most memorable of moments during Super Bowl XXXII. He made a phenomenal catch by leaping through the air, brushing off two had hits in the process, which ultimately led to Terrell Davis scoring a touchdown two plays later. That broke the tie and put the Broncos ahead of the Packers.

There is one superbowl highlight that has to go down in history as the most talked about superbowl occurrence ever. This highlight happened during Super Bowl XXXVIII, and although it happened on the field, it can’t be attributed to either playing team. Nope, this superbowl highlight occurred during the half-time show when Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake were performing. Timberlake tugged on a part of Jackson’s outfit as rehearsed, but a “wardrobe malfunction” ended up exposing much more of Jackson than the censors could allow.

Make sure don't miss out on this year's Super bowl!

Watch the Superbowl Online

How to Watch the Superbowl Online

Are you stuck on Superbowl Sunday without access to a tv? Hey, it happens. It happened to me last year when my wife scheduled a slumber party for my daughter's birthday. The powers that be informed me that the tv was off limits - on SUPERBOWL SUNDAY!

Click Here to Watch the Superbowl Online

So, I decided to see about watching it online. I looked into the free streaming sites and quickly discounted them. I didn't want unreliable coverage that might cut out right when my favored team made a touchdown. So, I broke down and ordered a tv satellite program - and never looked back.

How you can watch the superbowl online:

First - download the software and install it on your computer.
Second- turn on the game. Seriously, it's that easy.

This is what I got - to watch the game uninterrupted with crystal clarity and big game action. Since then I have used the program to watch lots of sports programs and even movies, news, etc.

Best thing about the software is that I only had to pay for it once, no month-to-month fees and I get over 3,500 channels I can watch.

One word of caution - don't order the software if you don't have broadband access because you have to have the speed of broadband to get the streaming to work. Other than that, you can't beat it.

Instant download and instant game!

I don't know who your favorite team is, but Superbowl LXVI is one you don't want to miss out on.

If the site I gave you (Satellite Direct) is down, you might also check out Direct Stream which my buddy says also works great. The links are below.

Watch the game with Satellite Direct
Watch the game with Direct Stream
